According to German newspaper, Manchester United are planing to make an offer of €85m for Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller
Despite being told that the Germany international is not for sale at any price, United submitted the offer to Bayern in the middle of last week.
While the German giants’ chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has previously dismissed United’s interest as just being rumour, the formal offer means he and the Bayern hierarchy now have to take the attempts to lure Muller away from the Allianz Arena seriously, the report claims.
Muller, aged 25, is under contract with Bayern until June 2019.
He previously worked under United boss Louis van Gaal during his time in charge of Bayern. Indeed, it was the Dutchman who gave a young Muller his first-team breakthrough.
